Swap accessory items

This chapter explains how to dissolve the relation to an accessory item of a master item and replace it by another accessory item. In the process, the master item of the accessory item with the item number “7000108106” is called up. Following this, the product relation to the old accessory item is dissolved and a new product relation to the item with the item number “7000108102” is set up. 

Step 1: Call up the master item

In this step, the master item of the accessory item with the item number “7000108106” is called up.

  1. Go to the “iPIM Portal” and call up the “Search” app.
  1. Move the upper toggle switch in the left card to the Off position to activate the standard search.
  2. Tick the “Advanced search” checkbox to activate the advanced search.
  3. Click on the Add button to call up the dialog box where you can select the search parameters for the advanced search.
  1. In the list of available attributes, search for the relevant search parameters. These are “Relation type” for the type of the product relation and “Relation number” for the item number of the accessory item.
    Use the text search to filter the list of available attributes by a search term.
  2. Transfer the attributes from the left column to the right column to select them. To do so, click on the respective attributes.
  3. Click on the “ACCEPT” button to finalise the search parameter selection. Following this, the dialog box closes and the selected search paramters are shown as search fields in the left card.
  1. From the “Relation type” menu, select the type of the product relation (in this example “accessories”*).
  2. In the “Relation number” field, enter the item number of the accessory item (in this example “7000108106”).
  3. Click on the “SEARCH” button to carry out the search. Once the search was carried out, the search result is shown in the right-hand table. In this example, this is the superordinate product of the master item.
  1. In the table, click on the product number to call up the product in the “Product details” app.

*The available relation types are depending on which relation types were set up in “iPIM CC”.

Step 2: Swap the accessory item

Step 2.1: Dissolve the current product relation

  1. Go to the “Product relations” tab.
  1. In the left-hand card, tick the master item. Following this, the corresponding product relations are shown in the right-hand table.
  1. Tick the product relation that you want to dissolve.
  2. Click on the “DELETE” button in the footer. Following this, the “CLICK TO CONFIRM” button appears.
  3. Click on the “CLICK TO CONFIRM” button to confirm the dissolving of the product relation. If the process was successful, a corresponding message will appear and the product relation vanishes from the table.

Step 2.2: Create the new product relation

In this step, the new product relation is created:

  1. If not already ticked, tick the master item in the left card.
  2. Click on the “ADD” button to call up the corresponding dialog box.
  1. If not already ticked, tick the master item in the “Source item” menu.
  2. From the “Relation type” menu, select the option “accessories”.
  3. Enter the item number of the new accessory item in the search field of the “Select target items” menu.
  4. Click on the “SEARCH” button to carry out the search. Once the search was carried out, the superordinate product of the accessory item is shown below the search field.
  1. Tick the accessory item.
  2. Click on the “APPLY” button to finalise the creation of the product relation. If the process was succesful, a corresponding message will appear and the newly created product relation is shown in the table.
