Use text templates for specific categories

Using an example, this chapter explains which configuration is necessary to limit a text template for generating texts automatically which is triggered by the “ProcessQueueGenerateTextJob” job to a particular category.

1. Create text template

In the first step, a text template is created. In order to find an example how to create a text template, click here.

2. Create category property and relate to primary taxonomy

In this step, the category property “CATEGORY_TEXT_SETUP” is created and it is related to the primary taxonomy. Later, the category property is used to relate the text template to the desired category of the primary taxonomy:

  1. Access the attribute configuration of iPIM CC and go to the “Configuration” tab.
  1. Enter the value “CATEGORY_TEXT_SETUP” in the “Attribute ID” field .
  2. Select the option “String, not localized” from the “Attribute type” menu .
  3. Select the option “Category property” from the “Scope” menu .
  4. Select the option “Optional” from the “Mandatory field” menu .
  5. Click on the SAVE button in the lower right corner to generate the category property.Arrow to the right A success message is shown.
  1. Go to the “Categories” tab.
  1. Click on the ADD button to call up the corresponding dialog box.
  1. Select the primary taxonomy from the “Versions” menu .
  2. Tick the root node of the primary taxonomy.
  3. Click on the SAVE button to finalise the relating of the category property to the primary taxonomy.
    The dialog box closes and a success message is shown.

3. Relate the text template to the category

In this step, the text template is related to the desired category of the primary taxonomy. In this example, this is the category “Toaster”:

  1. Access the iPIM Portal and call up the “Taxonomies” app.
  2. Go to the “Taxonomy properties” tab.
  1. From the uppermost menu , select the primary taxonomy.
  2. Choose the category from the category directory . Possibly enter the category name in the “Search term” field  and click on SEARCH button  to find the category.
  3. Click on the category to select it.

  1. Assign the category property “CATEGORY_TEXT_SETUP” to the category “Toaster”. To do so, click on the ADD PROPERTIES button to call up the corresponding dialog box. 
  1. Possibly enter a search term in the search field to filter the list of category properties by a search term.
  2. Transfer the category property from the left column to the right column to select it. To do so, click on the category property .
  3. Click on the ACCEPT button to finalise the selection of the category property..
    The dialog box closes and the selected category property is shown in the table.
  1. Assign the identifier of the text template as its value. To do so, double-click on the table cell of the “Value” column and enter the identifier.
  2. Click on the SAVE button to save your input.
    A success message is shown. The automated text generating is now configured.
