FAQ
Can the different search options be combined with each other?
Yes, both the product search and the list search can be used in combination with the advanced search and the category search to narrow down the search results further. However, the different searches can also be used independently.
Why can’t I find the product I am searching for?
In order for products to appear in iPIM Buy they have to be assigned to a supplier as well as to the relevant sales taxonomies. Additionally, you need to trigger a corresponding ElasticSearch job (Elastic_Search_Product_Full_ExportJob) and then carry out a synchronisation.
What can I enter as a search term in the single search?
An appropriate search term can be a product name or another kind of attribute value. Even partial terms are viable.
How can I specify which attributes are available as parameters in the advanced search?
Via the property ipim.buy.search.products.combined.attributes.link you can specify which attributes are included in the advanced search.
Which sales taxonomy is shown in the category search, and where can this be controlled?
Via the property ipim.buy.publication it can be defined which sales taxonomy is shown here. Taxonomies in turn can be defined in the corresponding section of iPIM CC.
Does the column filter in the product list only capture exact matches?
No, the filters do not only capture exact matches. That means, a filter also captures entries that contain the entered filter term. For example, when filtering for the filter term “10003”, the filter also captures products with product numbers such as “1000312”, “1210003” or “1100032”, and via a prefix match, the filter also captures products resp. items with the same auto-generated prefix. That means, when filtering for the filter term “78035-HI-2XL”, the filter also captures products with the prefix “78035-HI” (e.g. “78035-HI-S”, “78035-HI-M” etc.).
