Attribute types
Among others, there are the following attribute types:
| Attribut type | Description |
| Character string, CMYK | Attribute type that can be used to depict CMYK colour values (e.g. 70%, 0%, 51%, 34% for a particular shade of green) |
| Character string, HEX | Attribute type that can be used to depict three- or six-digit hexadecimal colour values as they are used in HTML (e.g. F00 or FF0000 for the colour Red) |
| Character string, not localized | Attribute type for simple character strings comprised of given characters which are the same for any locale. In order to learn how to create attributes of this type, click here. |
| Character string, localized | Attribute type for simple character strings comprised of given characters which differ from locale to locale. In order to learn how to create attributes of this type, click here. |
| Complex | Since 5.4.1: Attribute type that can be used to visualize complex information structures. For this purpose, multiple “Complex attribute definition” attributes are subordinated to a “Complex” type attribute so that they form a set of related attributes. The respective information structures can be visualised via such an attribute set, whereby these informations can be represented via one or more attribute sets with the same structure. | Composition, listed | Attribute type that can be used to depict compositions in the form of a list (e.g. 200g flour, 50g sugar, 3g baking soda). For this purpose, a value is created for each component of the composition. Additionally, a unit of measurement needs to be specified. |
| Composition, percentage | Attribute type that can be used to depict percentage-based compositions (e.g. 75% cotton, 25% polyester). For this purpose, a value is created for each component of the composition. Note: When setting the values for the respective attribute, the sum of the individual components has to be 100%. For the example shown above, the syntax for uploading an attribute value via the “Import” tab of the “Product data update” app is 75#cotton|25#polyester. |
| Date | Attribute type that can be used to depict a date (e.g. 6 Dec 2023) |
| Date and time | Attribute type that can be used to depict a date including a time of the day (e.g. 6 Dec 2023, 08:09:43) |
| Digital asset | Attribute type for attributes which can have a digital asset assigned to them. Can only be used for attributes of the “Category property (Taxonomy property)” scope |
| List of values, single | Attribute type for a predefined value set from which the user can select a single value. In order to learn how to create attributes of this type, click here. |
| List of values, multiple | Attribute type for a predefined value set from which the user can select several values |
| Logical value | Attribute type for boolean values with two states which can be configured for each locale (e.g. YES or NO) |
| Maintenance level (Context) | Attribute type for attributes which can be used to specify which context level is considered when creating category mappings. This attribute type can only be used for “Category property” attributes. |
| Meta attribute | Attribute type for attributes which can comprise multiple “Meta-attribute-definition” attributes |
| Number, decimal | Attribute type for decimal numbers |
| Number, integer | Attribute type for integer numbers |
| Number, percentage | Attribute type for percentage numbers |
| Number range, integer | Attribute type for a range of integer numbers with an integer value as a starting value and as an end value (e.g. 1-4) |
| Number range, percentage | Attribute type for a range of percentage number with an percentage value as a starting value and as an end value (e.g. 1.5-4.8) |
Attribute scopes
Among others, there are the following attribute scopes:

| Attribute property | Attribute scope for attributes that can be used to depict the properties of an attribute. These can be of a controlling nature. Click here for more information. |
| Category attribute | Attribute scope for attributes which will only be applied to products of particular categories which are allocated to the respective attribute |
| Category-attribute-relation | Attribute scope for attributes that can be used to describe the relation between a category and taxonomy attributes |
| Category-product-relation | Attribute scope for attributes that can be used to depict the relation between products and categories |
| Category property | Attribute scope for attributes that can be used to depict taxonomy properties. These attributes are maintained on the category level. |
| Content attribute | Attribute scope for attributes which can be used within a content object |
| Complex-attribute-definition | Since 5.4.1: Attribute scope for attributes which can be subordinated to a “Complex” type attribute |
| Cross-selling-relation | Attribute scope for attributes that can be used to depict the properties of product relations |
| Digital asset | Attribute scope for attributes that can be used to depict properties of a digital asset |
| Digital-asset-product-name | Attribute scope that can be used to describe the relation between a product and a digital asset |
| Meta-attribute-definition | Attribute scope for attributes which can be subordinated to a “Meta-attribute” type attribute |
| Partner attribute | Attribute scope for attributes which can be assigned to objects of the type “partner”. They can be used to depict the properties of partners. |
| Price | Attribute scope for attributes that can be used to depict properties of price datasets |
| Size system | Attribute scope for attributes that can be used to depict a size system using a list of values |
| Standard attribute | Attribute scope for attributes which will be applied to any product |
| Supplier attribute | Attribute scope for attributes which can possess different values depending on the supplier level. When importing items via a catalog in iPIM Supply, attribute values are stored on the supplier level of the supplier that is assigned to the catalog. |

| Type property | Attribute scope for attributes that can be used to depict the properties of types such as text, locale, price or relation types |
| User attribute | Attribute scope for attributes which can be assigned to objects of the type “user”. They can be used to depict the properties of partners. |
| Value property | Attribute scope for attributes that are be used to depict the properties of the values of a list of values attribute |
