Define dependent value mappings

Via a dependent value mapping you can specify for the selected attribute that when selecting a particular value, a specified value is set automatically for the related attribute.

Example for a dependent value mapping: If the value “Algae” is set for the selected attribute, the value “green” is automatically set for the the related attribute “Slnt_Color”.

In order to define a dependent value mapping, proceed as follows:

  1. First select the attribute for which you want to define a value mapping.
  1. In the left-hand card, click on the “Dependent values” tab.
  2. In the table, click on the value for which you want to specify a dependent value and a dependent value.
  3. Click on the CREATE button in the “Dependent values” card to call up the corresponding dialog box. The dialog box features two sliders where you can select a dependent attribute and a dependent value.
  1. Select a dependent attribute. You can also select multiple attributes:
    • In order to select an attribute, transfer it from the left column to the right column. To do so, click on the attribute.
    • In order to deselect an attribute, transfer it from the right column back to the left column. To do so, click on the attribute.
  2. Click on the button to proceed to the next slider.
  1. Select a value as a dependent value. Depending on your selection in the first slider, you can also select multiple values:
    • In order to select an attribute value, transfer it from the left column to the right column. To do so, click on the value.
    • In order to deselect an attribute value, transfer it from the right column back to the left column. To do so, click on the value.
  • In order to finish the process and to relate the selected value of the source attribute to the selected value of the dependent attribute, click on the ACCEPT button. If the process was successful, a corresponding message will appear and the related value appears in the table of the “Dependent values” card.
  • In order to cancel the process, click on the CANCEL button.
Note
First introduced in version 5.5.0: If an attribute with an extensive list of values is selected, no further attributes can be selected. If such an attribute was selected, it depends on a search term which values are loaded. Note: The respective search field is only show if an attribute with an extensive list of values is selected.

Define determining value mappings

Via a determining value mapping you can specify for the selected attribute that when selecting a particular value for a related attribute, a specified value is automatically set for the selected attribute.

Example for a determining value mapping: If the value “Algae” is set to the related attribute “Slnt_Ingredient”, the value “green” is automatically set for the selected attribute.

In order to define a determining value mapping, proceed as follows:

  1. First select the attribute for which you want to define a value mapping.
  2. In the left-hand card, click on the “Determining values” tab.
  3. In the table, click on the first value for which you want to specify a determining attribute and a determining value.
  4. Click on the CREATE button to call up the corresponding dialog box. The dialog box features two tabs where you can select a determining attribute and a determining value.
  5. Select a determining attribute You can also select multiple attributes:
    • In order to select an attribute, transfer it from the left column to the right column. To do so, click on the attribute.
    • In order to deselect an attribute, transfer it from the right column back to the left column. To do so, click on the attribute.
  6. Click on the button to proceed to the next slider.
  7. Select a value as a determining value. Depending on your selection in the first tab, you can also select multiple values:
    • In order to select an attribute value, transfer it from the left column to the right column. To do so, click on the value.
    • In order to deselect an attribute value, transfer it from the right column back to the left column. To do so, click on the value.
  • In order to finish the process and to relate the selected value of the source attribute to the selected value of the determining attribute, click on the APPLY button. If the process was successful, a corresponding message will appear and the related value appears in the table of the “Determining values” card.

Edit properties of value mappings

Via their properties, value mappings can be specified further. When creating a value mapping, some properties are set by default, whereas some properties are left blank. The available properties include:

  • Value: This is the value of the related attribute which is mapped to the corresponding value of the selected attribute.
  • Relation type: Here you have the options “Required” and “Optional”. “Required” means that the value pairing of related attributes must correspond to the mapping. If a certain value is set for one of the attributes, the corresponding mapped value must also be set for the related attribute.* “Optional” means that the value pairing of the related attributes may deviate from the mapping.
  • Order: Here you can enter an integer value that determines the order.
  • Operation: The operator “equal” effects that a specified value is set for an attribute if a particular value is set for a related attribute. This operator is the default setting. It can be used for both mapping types. The operator “not” can only be used for determining mappings. It effects that a specified value is set for an attribute if a value other than the mapped value is set for the related attribute.
  • Group: Here can enter an integer value that is used to group value mappings.

In order to edit properties of a value mapping, proceed as follows:

  1. Double-click in the table cell you want to edit.
  2. Make the desired changes and leave the table cell.
  3. Possibly make further changes to other table cells.
  • In order to save your settings, click on the SAVE button. If the process was successful, a corresponding message will appear.
  • In order to dismiss your settings, click on the CANCEL button.
Note
  • For dependent value mappings, no settings can be made for the properties “Operation” and “Group”.
  • *If the pair of attribute values deviates from the value mapping, a validation for the respective product throws an error.

Export/import dependent value mappings

Using the export and import function you can export dependent value mappings as a .xslx file, edit them in a spreadsheet software and re-import them to update the value mappings in iPIM accordingly.

Note
  • The import and export functions can only be applied to the source attribute and a single target attribute.
  • The im- and export of value mappings can only be applied to dependent value mappings.

Export dependent value mappings

In order to export dependent value mappings as a .xslx file, proceed as follows:

  1. First select the attribute whose value mappings you want to export.
  2. Click on theaction menubutton to access the action menu behind it.
