FAQ

What does selecting an export channel do when creating a publication?

The export channel determines the form in which the product data is exported. You can choose between the CSV channel for the product data export to a sales channel or another target system via a .csv file, the “iMARKET” export for the product data export to a sales channel which is connected via iMARKET, and the “iSHOP export” for the product data export to a sales channel that uses iSHOP.

Which validation types are available when configuring a version, and what do they do?

You can choose between “Allows sales category validation”, “no sales category validation” and “Allows item level validation”. With “Allows sales category validation”, the status traffic light in the “Taxonomies” tab of the “Product details” app turns green when carrying out a validation if all the mandatory attributes and mandatory types of the category are maintained; otherwise it turns red. With “no sales category validation”, the status traffic light turns green after a validation no matter if all the mandatory attributes and mandatory types of the category are maintained or not. With “Allows item level validation”, the status traffic light turns green if all the mandatory attributes and mandatory types on the item level are maintained for every item of a product; otherwise it turns red.

Why must the category IDs not be changed when editing the exported .xlsx file?

The category IDs are crucial to correctly relate the category datasets from the .xlsx file to the corresponding category datasets in the iPIM system. Category datasets from the .xlsx file which can’t be related to category datasets in the iPIM system will be established as new categories.

Why is a secondary taxonomy sometimes not shown in the “Taxonomies” app of the iPIM Portal?

To be visible in the iPIM Portal, a secondary taxonomy needs to be assigned to the clients for which it is supposed to be visible. The corresponding assignment can be done in the “Clients” area of the “System setup” section.
