The partner concept is one of the tools for granular control of access to product data. Partners are divided into suppliers that provide product data and buyers that download product data to sell your products via their sales channels. Via the partner management you can specify, for example, that users can maintain supplier attributes only on the supplier levels of suppliers related to them. Additionally you can restrict a user in iPIM Supply to catalogs that are related to the same suppliers as the user. And you can specify that merchants can only view and download particular product data from related suppliers in iPIM Buy.
In the “Partners” section you can create new partners, manage existing partners or delete partners that are no longer necessary. Futhermore, you can establish relations between partners. And you can relate partners to users to which in turn you can assign user rights via user roles.
The “Partners” section comprises of the following areas:
