FAQ
What is the purpose of the “Partner” tab for a datafeed?
In the “Partner” tab you can relate a partner to a datafeed. This relation lets you specify permissions for individual datafeeds, so that a datafeed’s visibility and the ability to carry it out can be restricted to certain user groups.
What happens once a datafeed is related to a partner?
As soon as a datafeed is related to a partner, the datafeed can only be seen and carried out by users who are related to the respective partner. Without such a relation to the user, the datafeed remains invisible and cannot be carried out.
Which modules are affected by the partner relation with regard to a datafeed’s visibility?
The restriction of visibility and the ability to carry out a datafeed applies to iPIM Export, iPIM Supply, and iPIM Buy. It also applies to triggering a datafeed via the corresponding action in iPIM Portal.
Why would you relate a partner to a datafeed in the first place?
Relating partners to a datafeed lets you specify permissions for individual datafeeds. This allows you to control which user groups are allowed to see and carry out a particular datafeed.
How does relating a partner to a datafeed connect to relating users and partners?
For the restriction of visibility and the ability to carry out a datafeed to actually take effect, users in turn need to be related to the respective partner. Only through this twofold relation – datafeed to partner and user to partner – is access restricted accordingly.
