FAQ

What does the product status indicate?

The product status indicates, in the form of four status traffic lights, the completeness of the maintained product data according to the respective workflow. Each of the status traffic lights represents a workflow task, and its confirmed completion causes the status traffic light to switch to the corresponding colour. Four status traffic lights possessing the corresponding colour indicate that a product is maintained completely according to the definition of the workflow.

What does the quality grade indicate?

The quality grade indicates the completeness of the product data maintenance regarding the maintained mandatory attributes and mandatory types. It is measured by the percentage of mandatory data already maintained.

Why is there a quality grade in addition to the product status?

Both indicators measure the completeness of the product data, but by different standards: the product status indicates the completeness according to the respective workflow defined in iPIM Workflow, while the quality grade shows the completeness regarding the maintained mandatory attributes and mandatory types.

Why can’t the product number be edited, while the product name can?

The product number is the definite identification number of the called-up product and is assigned by the iPIM system, which is why it cannot be edited. The product name, on the other hand, is an editable field showing the product name assigned to the product by the user, and it can be edited.

Why does a status traffic light of the product status change its colour when I mark a workflow task as finished?

Each status traffic light represents a workflow task. If the finished task is part of a defined workflow, the appropriate status traffic light changes its colour accordingly, because the confirmed completion of a task causes the status traffic light to switch to the colour which was defined to indicate that the task is completed.

Which rights are needed to finish or remove workflow tasks?

Since version 5.4.3, the right “ipim-core.api.actions.finish-task” is needed to use the button to finish a task. The right for the button to remove tasks is “ipim-portal.product-details.dashboard.workflow.delete”. Additionally, the respective workbox roles have to be assigned to a user.

How is the quality grade of a product calculated?

By default, the quality grade is calculated on the basis of the percentage of correctly maintained category attributes. You can customize the quality grade calculation by specifying certain text and price types as mandatory or by specifying particular errors; the absence or occurrence of them will cause the quality grade to be classified as insufficient. In addition, the percentage thresholds for reaching particular quality grades can be set for each category via the corresponding taxonomy properties.

Why do I need to carry out a validation to update the quality grade?

The quality grade of a product is calculated via a validation, because in the process it is checked whether all the mandatory data is maintained for the product.
