Can I also use the taxonomy search to search for products?

No, the text search and the advanced search allow you to narrow down the selection of categories displayed. They can not be used to search for products etc.

Why can a category sometimes not be deleted?

You can only delete categories which don’t contain products. To delete categories which contain products you have to delete or move all the products before you can delete the category. Also categories that contain subcategories can not be deleted; for categories that possess subcategories, the delete button is not shown.

How do I change the display and search locale, and does this affect the interface language?

Via the “Display & search locale” menu you can select the language in which the category names are shown in the category directory and on which language level the search is carried out. However, the setting in this menu neither affects the interface language nor the data language. If the menu is cleared via the “x”, the category identifiers are shown instead of category names.

Why is a copied category not visible right away?

The copied categories will not be visible before a master data synchronisation was carried out. This can be done in the “Administration” section.

A product most likely has certain attributes which depend on the category it belongs to. Those attributes might not apply to other categories, which is why copying products only works within a category.

How do I export a category, and what are the prerequisites for this?

After selecting the category in the category directory, the option “Export” is chosen from the action menu of the card. You may not select more than a single category, and an export channel needs to be specified for the superordinate taxonomy. The export format and the export target are depending on the export channel that was set for a taxonomy and the target system that was configured for the export channel.

Why aren’t the mappings of a category transferred when copying?

Copying mappings can only be applied to categories whose category ID is assigned to the ipim.core.copy.nodenoderelation.enabled.version property as a value.
