Digital assets

Assign

Using the “Assign” action you can assign digital assets. This action applies to digital assets which are already stored in iPIM. For example, in order to assign a digital asset to a product, proceed as follows:

1. In the respective product data table, tick the product you want to a assign a digital asset to.
2. Click on thebutton in the footer to access the action menu.
3. Move the mouse cursor over the option “Digital asset” to show the corresponding submenu.
4. Click on the option “Assign” to call up the corresponding dialog box.
5. Use the search function to search for the desired digital asset. To do so, enter the appropriate search parameters. There are different search parameters to choose from. All of them are optional. Though, you should enter respectively select at least one search parameter.
   • Possibly enter a search term in the input field “Search text” to narrow down the search result to digital assets whose name contain the entered search term.
   • Possibly select a date from the selection menu “Upload to” to narrow down the search results to digital assets which were uploaded before the selected date.
   • Possibly select a date from the selection menu “Upload since” to narrow down the search results to digital assets which were uploaded after the selected date.
   • Possibly select an external system from the selection menu “External system” to narrow down the search result to digital assets which are stored in the corresponding digital system.
   • Possibly enter an ID in the input field “External ID” to narrow down the search result to digital assets which possess the entered ID.
6. As soon as you have entered respectively selected the search parameters, click on the “SEARCH” button. Following this, the “Digital asset” table on the right-hand side shows all the digital assets which where found by the search.
   Possibly use the free-text search to filter the list of digital assets by a search term.
7. Click on the digital asset you want to assign to the selected product.
8. Select the desired digital asset from the “Type” menu.
9. Possibly enter an integer value in the field “Order”. The integer value determines the position that the digital assets takes in a sequence of digital assets.

• In order to finish the process, click on the APPLY button. A success message is shown. The selected digital asset is now assigned to the selected product.
• In order to cancel the process, click on the CANCEL button.

• Input fields marked with an „*“ are mandatory.
• Since version 5.6.1: If a user assigns multiple digital assets to several items and they select an incremental order, the order of the digital assets is now counted per item and not across the board.
• Since version 5.6.1: When assigning multiple digital assets to a product while setting an incremental order, the order of the digital assets is counted in the same sequence as they are shown in the preview of the dialog box.

Remove digital asset

Using the action “Remove digital asset” you can revoke a digital asset from a product. To do so, proceed as follows:

1. In the respective product data table, tick the product you want to revoke a digital asset from.
2. Click on thebutton in the footer to access the action menu.
3. Move the mouse cursor over the option “Digital asset” to show the corresponding submenu.
4. Click on the option “Remove digital asset” to call up the corresponding dialog box.
5. Tick the digital asset you want to revoke from the selected product.
   Possibly use the free-text search to filter the list of digital assets by a search term.

• In order to finish the process, click on the APPLY button. A success message is shown. The selected digital asset is now revoked from the selected product.
• In order to cancel the process, click on the CANCEL button.

You can apply the “Remove digital asset” action to multiple products at the same time and to variants as well as items.

Rights

The identifier of rights are not shown correctly here as hyphens are shown as half square dashs. In order to search for a particular right in iPIM CC, copy the key to the clipboard and search for the key.
