Grouping tools

Grouping datasets

You can group the datasets of a table according to a particular attribute. To do so, proceed as follows:

  1. Click on the header of the column that belongs to the attribute according to which you want to group the datasets and hold the mouse button pressed.
  2. Drag the column header to the area above the table header and release the mouse button. Then the datasets are grouped in a way that datasets which share the same attribute value for the selected attribute are listed together.
Note
The grouping does not work with any attribute. If grouping attributes according to an attribute is possible, it can be recognised by the icon which is displayed while you drag the column header. Only attributes with the iconcan be used for grouping datasets.

Collapse and expand grouped datasets

You can collapse and expand the datasets of a dataset group. To do so, proceed as follows:

  • In order to expand all the datasets of a particular dataset group, click on thebutton in the respective table row.
  • In order to collapse all the datasets of a particular dataset group, click on the  button in the respective table row.
  • In order to expand all the datasets of all the listed dataset groups, click on thebutton in the table header.
  • In order to collapse all the datasets of all the listed dataset groups, click on thebutton in the table header.

Multilevel dataset grouping

The datasets listed in a table can be grouped in multiple levels. In order to create a second, subordinate grouping level, proceed as follows:

  • Drag the column header of a second attribute into the area above the column header.

Repeal a grouping

  • In order to repeal a grouping of datasets, click on the reset button which is situated next to the corresponding attribute chip.
