Mapping profiles

Mapping profiles can be used to automate the attribute mapping. A mapping profile contains the information which supplier attribute is to be assigned to which iPIM attribute. When the profile is applied, the attributes will be assigned accordingly.

INFO
The table lists all the existing mapping profiles. Using the corresponding tools you can filter the list entries by a search term or you can manipulate their order. And in case of a multi-page list, you can navigate between the pages. Click here to learn more about this.

Create mapping profiles

In order to automate the attribute mapping, you can use mapping profiles to automatically assign iPIM Supply attributes to supplier attributes. To do this, create mapping profiles in which you assign the attributes to each other. In order to to create and configure a mapping profile, proceed as follows:

  1. Click on the Add button to call up the configuration overview for mapping profiles.
  1. Enter a name for the mapping profile in the input field “Name”.

In case of a localized iPIM Supply attribute you can add multiple input fields of the corresponding multi-lingual suppler attributes. To do so, click on the Add button, enter the name of the attribute in the respective language in the input field and then select the corresponding language from the menu*.
  3. Click on the Save button to finish the process. Following this, the dialog box closes and the new attribute mapping appears in the list.
  1. Add further attribute mappings as described above.
  • In order to finish the process, click on the Save button. If the process was successful, a corresponding message will appear. The mapping profile is now created and configured.
  • In order to discard your settings and to leave the configuration overview, click on the Back button.

FAQ

Basics

What is a mapping profile?

A mapping profile contains the information which supplier attribute is to be assigned to which iPIM attribute. When the profile is applied to a catalog, the attributes are assigned accordingly.

What exactly is a mapping profile used for?

Mapping profiles can be used to automate the attribute mapping, so that recurring attribute assignments do not have to be made manually for each catalog individually, but can instead be saved as a profile and reused.

Add attribute mappings

What do I do if an iPIM Supply attribute is localized and multiple supplier attributes in different languages need to be assigned?

In case of a localized attribute, you can add multiple input fields in the dialog box by clicking on the Add button. For each field, enter the name of the attribute in the respective language and then select the corresponding language from the menu.

Besides the language selection, are there any other setting options when defining an attribute mapping?

Yes, the setting options depend on the attribute type. For example, for a numbers type attribute you can set a unit of measurement.

Add price attributes

How does the user’s language setting affect the description of a price attribute?

For the description field in the price attribute configuration, the current locale of the user is used.

Update catalogs

What does the “Update catalogs” function do?

Via this function, you can update all the catalogs which use the selected mapping profile at once. When the function is carried out, all the attribute pairs set as transformation rules are updated accordingly.

Are attribute mappings that have been deleted from the mapping profile also removed during the update?

No, updating catalogs only affects attribute mappings that are added to a mapping profile; these are added to the attribute mappings of related catalogs. Attribute mappings that are removed from a mapping profile are not removed from the attribute mappings of related catalogs upon updating.

INFO
  • In order to be able to access iPIM Supply, a user needs to be related to at least one supplier.
  • In order to make newly added rights effective for users outside of the regular synchronisation, you must carry out a master data synchronisation for users and roles. This can be done in the “Schedules” tab.
  • The identifier of rights are not shown correctly here as hyphens are shown as half square dashs. In order to search for a particular right in iPIM CC, copy the key to the clipboard and search for the key.
