Priorisization (Golden Record)

In this step you can specify for each iPIM attribute from which source catalog the corresponding attribute value is taken.

Configure priorization

Call up the priorization configuration

In order to specify the priorization of source catalogs for each attribute, first call up the priorization configuration. To do so, proceed as follows:

  1. Call up the corresponding catalog.
  2. In the “Catalog Process” tab click on “Priorization” or select the option “Priorization” from the “Configuration” menu to access the priorization configuration page.

Customize the priorization order on the attribute level

You can customize the priorization order for each attribute. This can be be done by moving the respective source catalog chips accordingly. In order to customize the priorization order for a particular attribute, proceed as follows:

Customize the priorization order via drag and drop

In order to customize the priorization order for a specific attribute via drag & drop, proceed as follows:

  1. In the table, click on the chip you want to move and hold the mouse button down.
  2. Drag the chip to the desired position in the priorization order and release the mouse button.
  3. Possibly move further chips.
  1. Click on the Save button below the table to save your changes. If the process was successful, a corresponding message will appear.

Modify the priorization order via the arrow buttons

In order to modify the priorization order for a specific attribute via the arrow buttons, proceed as follows:

  • In order to move a source catalog to a higher level within the prioritization order, click on thearrow leftbutton of the respective chip. The chip then moves to the left. Afterwards, click on the Save button below the table to save your changes.
  • In order to move a source catalog to a lower level within the prioritization order, click on thearrow rightbutton of the respective chip. The chip then moves to the right. Afterwards, click on the Save button below the table to save your changes.

Apply prioritization to further attributes

After you have prioritized the source catalogs for an attribute, you can apply this prioritization to additional attributes. To do this, proceed as follows:

  1. Prioritize the the source catalogs for an attribute as described above.
  2. Select the table rows of all the attributes to which you want to apply the same priorization.
  3. Click on Apply last priorisation to selected rows. Afterwards the chips in the selected rows regroup accordingly.
  4. Click on the Save button below the table to save your changes. If the process was successful, a corresponding message will appear.

Add source catalogs

Source catalogs can either be added to individual attributes or to all the attribute at once.

Add source catalogs to all the attributes

In order to add an additional source catalog to all the listed attributes, proceed as follows:

  1. Click on the Add source catalog button below the table to call up the corresponding dialog box.
  2. From the menu, select the source catalog. You can also select multiple catalogs.
  • In order to finish the process, click on the Add button. The corresponding source catalog chips now appear in the table.

FAQ

Basics

What happens in the “Priorization” step of a Golden Record catalog?

In this step, you can specify for each iPIM attribute from which source catalog the corresponding attribute value is taken. The priorization follows the aggregation in the catalog process, in which the item data from the different source catalogs were brought together.

Data View and Priorization Order

What does the “Order priorization” section show?

The section shows a tabular list of the attributes that were imported via the source catalogs. Furthermore, the table shows a series of chips for each attribute, where each of the chips represents a particular source catalog. The arrangement of the chips indicates for each attribute the order in which the different source catalogs are prioritized.

How are the source catalog chips initially sorted?

Initially, the chips are sorted according to the general prioritization order of the source catalogs, as previously defined in the aggregation configuration.

Customize the Priorization Order on the Attribute Level

Can I apply the prioritization made for one attribute to other attributes as well?

Yes. After you have prioritized the source catalogs for an attribute, select the table rows of all the attributes to which you want to apply the same priorization and click on APPLY LAST PRIORIZATION TO ALL SELECTED ROWS. Afterwards the chips in the selected rows regroup accordingly and must be saved to finish the process.

Add and Remove Source Catalogs

Can I add a source catalog to all attributes at once?

Yes, clicking on the ADD SOURCE CATALOG button below the table calls up the corresponding dialog box, in which one or multiple source catalogs can be selected.

What is the prerequisite for adding source catalogs in the priorization?

You can only add source catalogs which were assigned to the Golden Record catalog via the aggregation configuration.

Validation Rules

What does the “Validation rules” section show, and since which version is it available?

First introduced in version 5.4.2, the table in the “Validation rules” section shows all the validation rules that exist for the called-up catalog. At this point, new validation rules can be created, and existing ones can be edited, activated, deactivated, exported, imported, or removed.

How can I control whether a validation rule is applied during the priorization?

Via the checkbox in the “Active” column, a validation rule can be activated or deactivated. If the checkbox is ticked, the rule is applied in the process of the priorization; if it isn’t ticked, the rule isn’t applied.

What happens during import if a validation rule of the same name already exists?

If the checkbox “Overwrite existing rule” is ticked during import, an already existing rule is overwritten with the imported validation rule.

How can I centrally store a validation rule for use across multiple catalogs?

A validation rule can be added to a cleansing and validation profile. To do so, click on the corresponding button in the table row of the validation rule and select a desired cleansing and validation profile from the menu, then save the process. This allows the rule to be used for other catalogs without having to define it anew.

Rights

The following rights are required to use the process step “Priorization”:

Key Identifier Description
ipim-supply.catalogs.process iPIM Supply – Catalog process Right to call up catalogs respectively their “Catalog process” tab
ipim-supply.catalogs.process.prioritization.configure iPIM Supply – Golden Record Catalog process – Prioritization – Configure prioritization process Right to use the priorization configuration

ipim-supply.catalogs.process.prioritization.view-reports iPIM Supply – Golden Record Catalog process – Prioritization – View prioritization reports Right to call up priorization reports as well as the right to access the “Reports” tab
INFO
  • In order to be able to access iPIM Supply, a user needs to be related to at least one supplier.
  • In order to make newly added rights effective for users outside of the regular synchronisation, you must carry out a master data synchronisation for users and roles. This can be done in the “Schedules” tab.
  • The identifier of rights are not shown correctly here as hyphens are shown as half square dashs. In order to search for a particular right in iPIM CC, copy the key to the clipboard and search for the key.
