FAQ

Basics

What can be configured in the “Default number format and separators” section?

In this section of the transformation configuration, you can specify the catalog type, the default number format as well as the separator for separating the individual values of a list of values attributes. These settings affect how the imported item data is processed during the transformation.

Specify catalog types

What is the purpose of allocating catalog types?

By allocating catalog types to a particular catalog you can determine which global validation rules are applied to the imported item data during the transformation process. The catalog type therefore indirectly controls which checks take effect as part of the transformation.

Specify the default number format

Which options are available for the default number format?

The available options include “German” for comma-separated decimal values, “English” for dot-separated decimal values, as well as “automatic” for automatic recognition of the number format. The selected format determines how numeric values from the imported item data are interpreted.

What does the “automatic” setting do for the number format?

With the “automatic” setting, the number format of the imported values is recognized automatically instead of being fixed to “German” or “English”. This can be useful if the imported data is not consistently provided in the same number format.

Specify separators

What are the separators configured in this section used for?

The separators are used for separating the individual values of a list of values attribute. They specify at which points an imported value is split into the individual components of the list of values.
