Using cleansing rules you can define automated modifications of attribute values which are carried out in the process of a transformation of imported item data. In the process, the attribute values of the imported or manually added attributes are modified according to the defined rules.
Rules on the item level
On the item level, the following rule types are available:
| Rule type | Description |
| AI smart classification cleanser | For catalogs which were created via iPIM SSP, a cleansing rule of this type is set up automatically. At the same time an attribute mapping for the attribute “IPIM_PURCHASE_CATEGORY” is also added. This attribute indicates the classification of items resp. their parent products, meaning to which categories of the iPIM primary taxonomy they belong. The cleansing rule effects that for each imported item, the attribute is assigned the corresponding value for their classification in order to map them to the respective categories. Hereby, the category mapping is based on the supplier attribute which was specified as the categerorizing attribute in the catalog creation process of iPIM SSP. |
| Splitted short text improvement | If supplier attribute values exceed the maximum length of the mapped iPIM Supply attributes, this type of cleansing rule can be used to distribute these supplier attribute values across multiple iPIM Supply attributes. |
| Klassifikations-Mapping | A cleansing rule of this type can be used to check imported item data to see whether category nodes of secondary classifications are assigned a maximum to one valid category node of the primary classification. |
Rules on the attribute level
On the attribute level, the following rule types are available:
| Rule type | Description |
| ASIN | A cleansing rule of this type can be used to retrieve the corresponding ASINs for imported EANs, ISBNs or UPCs and allocate them to a particular attribute. |
| Concatenate strings | A cleansing rule of this type can be used to cleanse imported supplier item data to the effect that the values of multiple supplier attributes are concatenated and allocated to a particular iPIM Supply attribute. |
| Conditional attribute value deletion | A cleansing rule of this type can be used to specify for an attribute that a particular attribute value is to be deleted in the process of the transformation. |
| Conditional attribute setting | Using a rule of this type you can set rule-based attribute value settings carried out in the course of the transformation. Here, a certain target value is assigned to an attribute of an item, provided that certain conditions are met for a comparison attribute of the same item. |
| Converting unit of measurement | Among other things, a cleansing rule of this type can be used to convert imported dimension or weight specifications using a multiplicator and possibly assign another unit of measurement to them. |
| Copy attribute values | Using a cleanser rule of this type you copy the values of a particular attribute and allocate these values to another attribute so that, in the end, both attributes share the same value. |
| Extract substring (Delimiter) | A cleansing rule of this type can be used to cleanse imported supplier item data in a way that text parts that are located between two delimiters are extracted from supplier attribute values in order to allocate them to the corresponding iPIM Supply attributes. |
| Extract substring (Index) | A cleansing rule of this type can be used to cleanse imported supplier item data in a way that text parts are extracted from supplier attribute values and allocated to the corresponding iPIM Supply attributes. In the process , the supplier attribute values are cropped up to a specified character and/or from a specified character on. |
| Javascript | A cleansing rule of this type can be used to convert import supplier attribute values using a Javascript function and assign the result of the function to a particular iPIM Supply attribute. Conditions for a selective conversion of supplier attribute values can be defined via if-else-statements. |
| Pattern-based extraction | A cleansing rule of this type can be used to cleanse imported item data in a way that values from a double-figure or three-figure series of values, whereby the values can be linked via the characters “x” or “/”. |
| Pattern-based text splitter | A cleansing rule of this type can be used to cleanse imported item data to the effect that a particular part of multipart supplier attribute values is extracted and allocated to the corresponding iPIM Supply attribute. A rule of this type can be applied to supplier attributes whose individual parts are separated by specified delimeters. |
| Pricing rule | A cleansing rule of this type can be used to convert price data during the transformation of the imported supplier data. |
| Search and replace | A cleansing rule of this type can be used to cleanse imported item data so that attribute values of particular attributes are searched for specific terms in order to replace them with specified values. |
| Search and replace (V2) | A cleansing rule of this type can be used to cleanse imported item data so that attribute values of particular character string attributes are searched for specific terms in order to replace them with specified values. This version of the “Search and replace” rule extends the original version of the rule by the option to specify whether the whole value of the respective iPIM Supply attribute is replaced, or whether the part of the attribute values that matches the search term is replaced. |
| Setting default value for attribute | Using rules of this type you can assign default values to an attribut. The default value is always set when a supplier attribute does not contain a value. |
| Word case/capitalization | Cleansing rules of this type can be used to modify the upper and lower case of attribute values during the transformation of imported item data. |
