Pattern-based extraction

A cleansing rule of this type can be used to cleanse imported item data in a way that values from a double-figure or three-figure series of values, whereby the values can be linked via the characters “x” or “/”. For example, such a rule can be used to extract imported length, width or depth specifications from a size specification according to the pattern “20 x 30 x 10 cm” and assign them to a corresponding iPIM-Supply attribute.

In order to set up a cleansing rule of this type, proceed as follows:

  1. From the “Choose rule type” menu, select the rule type “Pattern-based extraction”.
  2. Click on the Add button to call up the corresponding dialog box.
  1. Enter a name for the cleansing rule in the input field “Title”.
  2. From the “Order” menu, select the desired option. You can choose between:
    • Before transformation: The attribute value modification also affects the supplier attributes.
    • After transformation: The attribute value modification only affects the iPIM Supply attributes.
  3. From the drop-down menu “Attribute”, select the iPIM Supply attribute to which the extracted values are to be allocated.
In the configuration shown here, for example, the value “34” is cut out of the value series “12 x 34 x 56 cm” and assigned to the selected iPIM supply attribute.
  1. Possibly enter a short description in the input field “Description”.
  2. Possibly tick the “Activate rule” checkbox to activate the rule.

    • “[1]x[2]x[3]” – extracts values separated by ‘x’

    • “[1]/[2]” – extracts one of two values separated by ‘/’
  5. From the “Group” menu, select the position of the value that is to be extracted:
    • 1st value
    • 2nd value
    • 3rd value
  6. Possibly configure a test run and carry it out in order to check if the configuration of the rule is valid.
  • In order to finish the configuration, click on the Save button. If the process was successful, a corresponding message will appear. The cleansing rule of is now set up.
