Mandatory attribute validator

In the process  of the transformation, the imported items are mapped to a category of the iPIM classification so that the items can be synchronized with the iPIM system. A validation rule of this type can be used to check whether all the mandatory category attributes of the respective category have the corresponding supplier attribute values mapped to them.

Note
In the process of a transformation, the validation rule is applied to the transformed iPIM Supply attributes.

In order to set up a validation rule of this type, proceed as follows:

  1. Select the rule type “Mandatory attribute validator” from the menu.
  2. Click on the Add button to call up the corresponding dialog box.
  1. Enter a name for the validation rule in the input field “Title”.
  2. Possibly enter a short description in the input field “Description”.
  3. Possibly tick the “Activate rule” checkbox to activate the rule.
  4. Possibly tick the “External rule” checkbox to define the rule as an external rule so that the validation result is also visible in iPIM SSP.
  1. Possibly tick the “Internal rule” checkbox to define the rule as an internal rule. An internal rule can be used as a subordinate rule of validation rules of particular rule types (since version 5.4.2).
  2. From the “Classifications” menu, select the corresponding iPIM classification.
  3. Determine the behaviour in case of an unsuccessful validation. In order to do so, select the appropriate option from the “Result of validation rule hits” menu:
    • Error: The corresponding items are marked as invalid.
    • Warning: The corresponding items are flagged with a warning.
    • Rule: A subordinate rule is carried out. Select the subordinate rule from the menu (since version 5.4.2).
  4. Possibly configure a test run and carry it out in order to check if the configuration of the rule is valid.
  • In order to finish the configuration, click on the Save button. If the process was successful, a corresponding message will appear. The validation rule of is now set up.
  • In order to cancel the process, click on the Cancel button.
